This is where you will have to think of your own concept. Would you like it to be cool or warm? Old-style or modern-looking? Playful and bright or simple and conservative? It all depends on how you wish to decorate your home and what you want to tell to people who will visit you in your home. If there are still few accessories and furnitures that you would like to use, make sure that your new home concept still has room for them.

As for your walls, you can appoint one wall to be a feature in your home. Painting all your walls with the same color could give off a dull vibe. You can paint one wall differently as your accent while the others with neutral ones.

  1. Consider the space size – For large spaces, experts recommend that you use strong and dark colors 30% of the space, medium colors 60%, and lighter ones at 10%. One the other hand, it is the opposite for small spaces. 60% of the space should be painted light, 30% with medium colors, and only 10% of the space should have dark colors.
  2. Lighter colors for places with textured surfaces – If you have brick walls or other rough surfaces, you should paint the space with lighter colors.
  3. Consider lighting and reflections too – You have to be extra careful on brightly lit spaces and those with reflected lights as well. CHoosing the wrong paint color can cause you headache. It is best to make use of natural light so that you have less limitations to your color selection.
